When most people talk about Texas sports they think about football. Why you say, because Texas hasn't ever had a World Series Champion in the history of the Texas Ranger and Houstan Astro era. If you combine both teams they have only one pennant victory in 42 years of baseball. So there is nothing to cheer about. But this year it would all change. The Texas Rangers knew they were losing fans and players due to .500 seasons and 3rd place finishes. They wanted the people of Texas to talk about other things besides football. Manager of the Rangers Buck Showalter added with the quote " We will bring pride back to Texas Rangers baseball"
Whos in: the Rangers added players like Chris Capuano, Mark Prior, Dan Haren and Brett Myers to the staff. Jose Guillen, Aramis Rameriz, and Brian Schnieder were added to supply power to the lineup and Ben Fritz and Kiko Calero were a nice bullpen addition.
The Rangers upgraded their Starting rotation with Chicago Cubs ace Mark Prior. (above)
Kiko Claero will be a key pitcher in the pen. (right)
