So far this Season the Yankees have had it tough. First they traded away star player Alex Rodriguez, then they traded away Philip Hughes for Carlos Zambrano and AJ Burnett. Hughes was the best Minor League player in baseball, but it was well worth it for Zambrano and Burnett. Then Burnett got hurt but will be back soon, but the spectacular prospect, Humberto Sanchez was injured in a game against San Diego. This injury was career ending, he collapsed and was rushed to a near by hospital and later found out the diagnosis was Bone Chips in his shoulder. This was a sad day for the Yankees knowing that they wouldn't have this young star to bring up to the Majors when the veterans retired.
On the other hand some good things have come to the Yankees such as Carlos Zambrano, Jermaine Dye, and Wilkin Ramirez, a young 3rd basemen who will most likely come up next Season if Koskie does not return to the Yankees. The Yankees do have a lot of talent here but can not seem to get over the .500 mark lately. There record currently stands at 38-50. They are hoping to start pulling off some trades and boost there record so that they can become first in there Division.
There have been rumors that the New York Yankees are looking to trade Mariano Rivera for a young talented ball player, not necessarily a Closer, but they would like to trade him before the Season ends because he does not want to negotiate a contract with them for next Season. He does not think the Yankees are doing good enough for him to stay.
Just a little while ago it was said that the Yankees had hired 3 new Coaches. They hired a Tiple A Coach, Joshua Hargrave. They think that he will go along well with the Columbus Clippers 55-20 record. They also hired a Hitting Coach, Rey Peirce and a Scouting Director, Biill Stoneman. Along with these Coaches the Yankees extended many contracts to there Major League ball players. Such as Ivan Rodriguez, Carlos Zambrano, and Jermaine Dye.
As you can see the New York Yankees are trying to get back into a winning ball club and are hoping to pull off some big moves before the All-Star break. Hopefully they can get a better pitching staff and get into a winning streak.
